Unique in capacity, purpose and character, TD Ameritrade Park will enhance Omaha's reputation as one of America's great sports communities. Designed to fit within the context of the entertainment quarter and serve as a gateway to downtown, the new ballpark will re-energize a sparsely populated area of the commercial district and serve as a catalyst to future development.

Richly articulated brick masonry at the base will recall the local historic warehouse building stock. At the same time, exposed structural truss members throughout the main concourse and plaza entries will elicit the raw steel expressionism of Rosenblatt Stadium and the legendary tradition of the College World Series. In contrast, the sleek glass and reflective metal crown of the stadium will emphasize the progressive nature of surrounding contemporary structures. The translucent glass facade will help to animate the building and punctuate the ballpark's modern expression. As a design feature administrative and retail spaces are treated with transparent glass allowing view corridors from the public right-of-way through building to the playing field, further emphasizing the communities' connection to the event. A metal canopy atop the ballpark's seating bowl will provide shade for a vast majority of patrons as well as a symbolic 'halo' when uplit at night.

In addition to serving as the home to the NCAA College World Series for the next 25 years, the ballpark will provide numerous sports and entertainment opportunities throughout the year, including professional and collegiate baseball, outdoor concerts and special conventions and events.
