Populous designed concepts for improvements to the Rose Bowl in 2008. Populous’ concept and master plan for the Rose Bowl redevelopment was the first design to undertake a comprehensive view of the Rose Bowl’s future, including accommodating an NFL expansion team in LA.

Design ideas included the addition of general seating, club seating, and luxury suite seating while bringing building systems up to current code requirements. A club seating section would be located along the west sideline, with direct access to a club lounge. Luxury suite seats would be accommodated in two suite levels above the seating bowl. Improvements to the entry plaza with new paving and landscaping would formalize the south end of the stadium as the main entrance, and the historic "Rose Bowl" sign would be preserved.
